Casual Friday

Shirt: H&M (this spring)
Shorts: H&M (this spring)
Scarf: H&M (last fall)
Shoes: H&M (overseas - years ago)
Watch: Charming Charlie

Happy Friday, everyone!  Temperatures here are consistently in the 100's right now, which means it's roasting outside and intolerably frigid due to the AC inside.  So in order to survive the drastic climate changes as I'm out and about today, I threw on a light tee and shorts and paired them with a large printed scarf.  On the agenda for the day, in order of urgency, is:

1. Getting my hair did (if you're in the area and need a recommendation for a stylist who is a genius with cut and color, email me).
2. Finishing up the draft of a paper I'm hoping will get published, which exactly 5 people, including my mother and the co-authors, will probably only ever read
3. Packing!  I'm heading to Nashville tomorrow to visit my mom and family for a week, and I can't wait.  My mom is so much fun, and is interior decorator, photographer, entertainer extraordinaire, so I always come back inspired.

How do you dress for drastic temperature changes in the summer? Any fun plans on your agenda this weekend?

I hope you have a fabulous one, friends!  Thank you for reading, and I'll see you next week from Country Music, USA!

  1. TOTALLY adorable! And the scarf is genius for the a/c. I might have to use that trick when it hits 80 here in Oregon. ;)

  2. Dang girl, I can't believe how hot it is out there! If it's over 85, I ditch my scarf haha. I love the pattern mixing and I'm coveting those mint shorts! Have a great time in Nashville  :)

  3. and the shades.... where did you get those?!  Ok, I'm inspired now to get dressed up for dinner tonight.  I've done me nails --pearl pink which looks awesome against me brown skin (yep, british affect intended) -- and will attempt to jazz up the old "do".  Have a safe trip and when you get back can you have a special feature on style tips for "lounging around the house working on your dissertation in an apartment with no AC."  Wearing PJs is getting a bit old; plus it's shameful to open the door to your neighbors looking this bad! :-)

  4. Thank you, M'Balia!  The answer to that style challenge is obviously to work in your undies! While chewing ice chips. Ugh. If you need AC, come over!  And I love that you're working on your dissertation!  The end is near, lady!

  5. Oh one of my favorite print combos - stripes and leopard print. Love the color of those shorts. You look fabulous!
Wow, in 100's...that's crazy. It's supposed to be 85 here over the weekend, hopefully not to hot for the Art Festival (just Saturday).

  6. Thank you, Sharon!  I normally would ditch the scarf, too, but they AC the $#@! out of all the buildings 'round these parts. Have a great weekend!

  7. Thank you!  This scarf is large enough that I take it off and use it as a blanket sometimes. :)  How I miss Oregon summers ...
