Cake tasting appointment, Bonnie? But didn't you just get engaged a month ago?
Yes friends - exactly four weeks ago I was asking Watson, who had dropped down on one knee in the middle of a medieval French village, if his legs hurt and he needed an ibuprofen and should we call it a day of sightseeing.
Fast forward one month and I'm starting to get used to calling him my fiance, and we've decided to try to pull off a wedding by the end of this year. Which would seem completely reasonable to someone who does not read The Knot. Except 'round these parts vendors are already booking up through late spring 2014.
So last week we went to pick out a mother $%#@!#$ cake. And the waistband of this skirt had enough stretch that I managed to stuff myself with three mini cakes without incident - champagne cake w/creme fraiche and strawberry filling, dulce de leche cake with a fromage filling & frosting and red velvet cake with a white chocolate/cream cheese frosting. Uh-MAZING.
And the skirt has earned itself a permanent place in my closet.

LOVE the outfit, that cardi is too cute and the skirt is beautiful. Perfect cake tasting attire! The flavors you picked sound so yummy. And don't worry, my friend got engaged on NYE and was married in November of that year, so it can be done! You just need to be flexible. :-) I know you said this wasn't going to turn into a wedding blog, but I'm SO excited to read/see more about the planning!
